Global Views Monthly Announces the MVP Schools: Wenzao Ursuline University of Languages Ranks among Top 5 Private Technical and Vocational Universities

Recently, Global Views Monthly had a 2022 Best University vote, inviting the presidents and vice presidents of public and private technical and vocational universities to vote the best universities in terms of industry connection, cross-domain integration, and international cooperation. Among all the universities, Wenzao Ursuline University of Languages (hereafter “Wenzao University”) showed the greatest improvement, ranking among the top five private technical and vocational universities and becoming one of the universities to win the annual MVP award.

Wenzao University’s efforts and outstanding achievements in promoting an all-English learning environment, as reported in the “Bilingual Education for Students in College (BEST) Program” review results released in 2021, have earned the approval of the Ministry of Education. Thus, the Ministry has selected Wenzao University “College of International Culture Education, and Foreign Affairs” and “College of New Media and Management” as key training colleges, making the University the only private technical and vocational university to receive such an honor.

In 2022, the Ministry of Education has also released a list of colleges and universities that have won the “Grants for Outstanding College and University Students Studying and Researching Abroad (Learn to Fly).” Wenzao University won a total of NT$5.4 million, the most among schools in Taiwan, because of its remarkable performance, showing that the University’s results in promoting international experiences and learning, creating an international learning environment, and enriching its students’ international mobility have been well-received by the Ministry.

Furthermore, Wenzao University’s results in promoting Mandarin education have garnered the attention of various domains. In 2021, the University received subsidies from the Ministry of Education for the “Taiwan Huayu Best Program” a program launched by the ministry for colleges and universities to promote Mandarin. Wenzao University collaborated with the University of St. Thomas (in Houston, the United States) to establish Taiwan’s first-ever Mandarin center in the United States, a historic milestone for Taiwan’s Mandarin education. In the meantime, Wenzao University introduced the Taiwan Huayu Scholarship as well as researched and developed online Mandarin teaching materials to build a high-quality Mandarin education brand.

Wenzao University is dedicated to developing talented students, strengthening their interdisciplinary competitiveness (i.e., foreign language and professional abilities), and working jointly with international companies and experts to provide high-tech industry administrative assistant training, high-tech industry assistant engineer training, and new business and finance courses. Lastly, the University and the Tainan Silks Place Group co-established Elite Management Courses to develop elite managers and talented individuals needed by industries.
