Do I have to be a Catholic to apply to Wenzao?

No. Wenzao Ursuline University of Languages welcomes students from all religious backgrounds, including those with no religious affiliation. There is no requirement to be Catholic in order to apply or enroll.

As a Catholic university, Wenzao upholds values such as respect, care, and service. Some courses or campus activities may introduce cultural or ethical perspectives; however, these are intended to broaden students’ global understanding and do not require any religious commitment.

How many student intakes are there?

As of March 2026, the university has a total enrollment of approximately 6,246 students.

When does the academic year commence?

The academic year at Wenzao Ursuline University of Languages typically begins in September and ends in August of the following year.

What is the difference between Five-Year junior college programs and Two-Year college programs and Four-Year college programs?

Junior high school graduates can be admitted to high schools, vocational high schools or 5-year junior colleges. Our 5-year junior college programs offer students 5 language majors, including English, French, German, Spanish and Japanese.

Graduates of 5-year junior colleges can be admitted to 2-year junior colleges. Our 2-year junior colleges provide students with 4 majors, including English, Translation & Interpretation, Japanese and Spanish majors. After graduating from the 2-year junior colleges, students will be offered with B.A. degrees.

High school or Vocational high school graduates can be admitted to colleges, universities or technical colleges. Wenzao is one of the technical colleges and offers students with 13 language and language application majors. After graduating from the 4-year college programs, students can get B.A. degrees.

Are Wenzao degrees recognized widely?

Yes. Wenzao Ursuline University of Languages is officially recognized and accredited by the Ministry of Education of Taiwan, and it offers formally recognized bachelor’s and master’s degrees.

In addition, Wenzao maintains extensive international partnerships and exchange programs with universities worldwide, enhancing the global recognition and mobility of its degrees.

Graduates of Wenzao are well-prepared for further studies or careers both in Taiwan and internationally.

Can I work if I am an international student?

Yes. International students in Taiwan are allowed to work or intern (both on campus and off campus); however, you are required to apply for and obtain a work permit before starting any job

Does tuition fees include accommodation and food?

No. Tuition fees do not include accommodation or meals.

Students are responsible for arranging and covering their own housing and living expenses.

Are there any scholarships available for international students?

Yes. We offers various scholarships for international students.
