Wenzao Ursuline University of Languages has taken a significant step forward in AI integration by partnering with global AI leader NVIDIA to host an on-campus watch party featuring the live broadcast of CEO Jensen Huang’s keynote speech at COMPUTEX 2025. The event, held on May 9, attracted over 300 enthusiastic students, faculty members, and alumni, creating a vibrant atmosphere as the entire campus witnessed the latest trends in generative AI and global tech industry development. The event further laid a solid foundation for Wenzao’s ongoing AI education initiatives.

Wenzao President Dr. Hwei-Lin. Chuang addressed the audience, emphasizing that AI technologies are now deeply embedded in all sectors and represent essential competencies for modern learners. She noted the university’s recent strides toward building a smart campus, with innovations ranging from technological infrastructure upgrades to curriculum transformation. Dr. Chuang expressed her hope that Huang’s insights would help students better understand the evolving landscape of generative AI and technological innovation, while also enhancing their global perspective and digital literacy.

To comprehensively enhance its AI education and hands-on resources, Wenzao officially established the AI Innovation and Development Center in September 2024. This center now serves as the university’s hub for AI education and interdisciplinary application, launching several initiatives that blend language education, cultural content, and digital skills. As part of this effort, the GAI (Generative Artificial Intelligence) Humanities Innovation Teaching and Research Lab, also led by the center, was simultaneously launched under a three-year development plan supported by Taiwan’s Ministry of Education through the Higher Education Sprout Project.

The GAI Lab has acquired 20 AI-dedicated laptops equipped with NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 Ti or higher-level laptop GPU to support deep learning, speech recognition, image generation, and other advanced applications. These tools will empower the university’s AI faculty taskforce to flexibly integrate AI technologies into teaching, research, and training programs. The lab focuses on the practical use of generative AI in language instruction, translation technologies, cultural creativity, and digital storytelling. Plans are underway to invite industry professionals to offer training courses on large language models such as Chat RTX, with a GAI Technology Research and Development Sharing Conference scheduled for the end of the year to present cross-disciplinary innovations.

Since September 2024, Wenzao has prioritized AI education as a strategic focus for its three-year institutional development plan. The university is actively integrating internal and external resources to promote AI-related courses, certification systems, and professional development for faculty. To date, the AI Innovation and Development Center has launched 12 interdisciplinary projects combining AI with language education, aiming to create a learning environment that merges humanities and technology.
Looking ahead, Wenzao will continue to deepen its collaboration with leading tech firms like NVIDIA, introduce more educational resources and technical support, and enhance the AI proficiency and innovative capabilities of both faculty and students. These efforts aim to build a globally competitive smart campus and cultivate cross-disciplinary talent for the AI-driven future.
