Global Views Monthly yesterday (July 1) announced its 2026 Taiwan Best Universities Ranking, with Wenzao Ursuline University of Languages earning the No. 1 position among private universities in the language studies category in the “Peer Assessment” survey. Ranked just behind Taiwan’s leading national universities, including National Taiwan University, National Chengchi University, and National Taiwan Normal University, Wenzao once again demonstrated its excellence in foreign language education, internationalization, and interdisciplinary AI talent cultivation, receiving high recognition from both academia and society.

As Wenzao celebrates its 60th anniversary this year, the University continues to uphold its educational philosophy of “Reverence for God, Love for Humanity”, placing international education at the heart of its mission while actively integrating artificial intelligence (AI) and interdisciplinary learning into its curriculum. According to the Global Views Monthly 2026 Taiwan Best Universities Ranking, Wenzao not only secured the top position among private universities nationwide in the language studies category, but also ranked No. 1 in internationalization among Taiwan’s private universities of science and technology, highlighting its longstanding strength in global education.

Wenzao has established an extensive global education network and maintains an international faculty ratio exceeding 15%, creating a multilingual and multicultural learning environment on campus. Every year, hundreds of students participate in overseas exchange programs, academic study, or internships at partner universities around the world, strengthening their language proficiency, intercultural competence, global perspectives, and independent learning skills. In addition, under the Ministry of Education’s 2026 Study Abroad Scholarship Program for Outstanding Students, Wenzao received NT$4.48 million in funding—the highest allocation among Taiwan’s private universities of science and technology—further affirming its outstanding achievements in promoting international mobility and global talent development.

The University also continues to advance its signature “Language × Professional Expertise” interdisciplinary education model by closely aligning academic programs with industry needs. Through internship partnerships with internationally renowned companies such as TSMC, ASE Technology Holding, and ASML, Wenzao equips students with technological competencies and cross-cultural communication skills. Students from the Department of German, in particular, have demonstrated exceptional performance during internships at TSMC, with a 90% retention rate, underscoring the strong industry recognition of Wenzao’s interdisciplinary talent cultivation.

In response to the rapid advancement of AI technologies, Wenzao has established a dual-focus talent development strategy that integrates AI and internationalization. Since 2024, the University has successively established the AI Innovation Development Center, the AI Innovation Laboratory, and the GAI-3D Design Laboratory, comprehensively incorporating generative AI into teaching and practical applications. The GAI-3D Design Laboratory integrates high-performance computing facilities with the NVIDIA Omniverse platform to provide students with hands-on experience in generative design, 3D modeling, and digital content creation, fostering both AI application skills and innovative thinking.

Wenzao has also partnered with the Taiwan AI Academy to incorporate its “AI for Everyone” curriculum into academic programs, applying generative AI across language education, cultural and creative industries, and digital marketing. The University has established interdisciplinary AI course modules and faculty development programs to strengthen AI literacy among both students and faculty. Beginning in the 2026 academic year, Wenzao will join the Taiwan Artificial Intelligence College Alliance (TAICA) and launch five AI credit programs covering generative AI, natural language processing, cybersecurity, and related fields. Through cross-institutional course enrollment and resource sharing, the University will continue to cultivate a new generation of globally competitive professionals equipped with AI expertise and interdisciplinary capabilities.
