Wenzao President Hwang Hui-ling was invited to Taipei to receive the award, and Board Chair Sister Wang Tsai-chu also attended the ceremony. In her acceptance speech, President Hwang first expressed gratitude for the recognition of Wenzao’s educational achievements. She noted that Wenzao was founded by sisters from the Ursuline order originating in Europe and the United States, and that its international spirit has been deeply embedded in the university’s DNA since its establishment. She emphasized that Wenzao’s educational mission is to cultivate interdisciplinary talent with strong language proficiency integrated with applied professional knowledge. Language education remains the university’s core value, while professional application serves as an important complementary strength. Wenzao will continue to uphold its founding mission and cultivate key talent capable of supporting diverse industries in Taiwan while engaging with the global community.
As Wenzao approaches its 60th anniversary next year, internationalization has remained one of its core strengths. The university has the highest proportion of international faculty in Taiwan, exceeding 15%. According to Global Views Monthly’s “2025 Taiwan Best Universities Rankings,” Wenzao has ranked first nationwide in “international faculty ratio” for nine out of the past ten years, and ranks fifth among private universities in overall internationalization. Each year, hundreds of students participate in overseas exchange programs, enhancing their language proficiency while also developing independence and problem-solving skills in cross-cultural environments.
Wenzao is committed to talent cultivation through a “Language + Professional Expertise” model, developing students’ interdisciplinary competitiveness. The university has also partnered with leading technology companies such as TSMC, ASE Group, and ASML to provide AI-oriented corporate internship programs. Through hands-on workplace experience, students enhance their technological application skills and international communication abilities, cultivating industry-ready global professionals highly recognized by employers.
In response to the rapid transformation of global education and industry driven by generative AI, Wenzao has proactively integrated technology with the humanities. Since 2024, the university has established the AI Innovation Development Center and built an AI Innovation Lab equipped with high-performance NVIDIA GeForce RTX 50-series laptops. These initiatives strengthen both faculty and students’ practical AI capabilities and promote interdisciplinary applications of generative AI in language education, translation technology, digital marketing, and cultural creativity. Through these efforts, Wenzao is committed to creating an intelligent learning environment that integrates language and technology, paving the way for global talent development.
