Almost 100 companies participated in the 2023 Wenzao Campus Career Fair, both onsite and through online consultations, aiming to recruit talented individuals. With over 2,000 job and internship vacancies available, the Career Fair provided students with an excellent opportunity to find their ideal career. The participating companies represented diverse industries, including semiconductor, IT, leisure and tourism, hotel services, catering, language education, translation, marketing and sales, international trade, logistics, education and training, and manpower dispatching. Notably, high-tech companies like TSMC also conducted recruitment orientations at the event. The Fair even successfully attracted international students who were interested in exploring opportunities in Taiwan.
The primary focus of the 2023 Wenzao Campus Career Fair was on cross-disciplinary talents, offering more than 2,500 domestic and overseas opportunities on-site. These opportunities included vacancies in Mexico, Japan, Southeast Asia, and China, providing new graduates and international students with a wide range of options. The leisure and tourism industry, including catering, had the highest representation with 25 participating companies, followed by the information technology industry, including manufacturing, with 18 companies. Students had the convenience of submitting their resumes either on-site or online.
Moreover, the Career Fair served as a platform for overseas students to explore future career prospects in Taiwan. Yanek Filipp, a senior from the Department of International Business Administration, shared his experience of visiting UMC’s booth. He expressed a particular interest in human resources-related positions and his desire to work in Taiwan after graduation. Sergei Belousov, a junior from the Department of International Affairs, also took advantage of this opportunity to familiarize himself with the job market in Taiwan and gain insights for his future course selection.
Given the high demand for talent in the high-tech industry, Wenzao collaborates with science parks in Taiwan to establish the “Talents for High-Tech Industry Training Program.” This program aims to facilitate students’ entry into the high-tech industry and cultivate future talent for Taiwan. In addition, companies from Tainan Science Park organized an orientation session during the afternoon of the Fair. Notably, His Excellency Douglas Cheng-Tsung Shen from the Southern Office of MOFA delivered a keynote speech, sharing his diplomatic experience to inspire Wenzao students’ interest in pursuing careers in this field.
